LIAM GALLAGHER TO RELEASE MTV UNPLUGGED LIVE ALBUM

March 18, 2020

Oasis got their MTV Unplugged debut back in 1996, but lead singer Liam Gallagher missed the session due to a sore throat. Having been absent for such a reputable session, Liam made sure to fulfill his unfinished business, putting on a solo session at Hull’s City Hall last year.

Now, three months after Liam released the majority of his MTV Unplugged session digitally as part of his surprise Acoustic Sessions EP, the former Oasis singer will release the complete set as a live album on April 24th.

“I was honoured to perform at the legendary showcase that is ‘MTV Unplugged,’" said Liam. “It was a lovely experience and the people of Hull were biblical and sounded fantastic. I hope you enjoy the record. LG x.”

MTV Unplugged Live at Hull City Hall will feature 10 electrifying tracks from Gallagher’s performance- six of the songs featured on Acoustic Sessions, plus Oasis classics “Champagne Supernova” and  “Some Might Say.”

The show’s invigorating atmosphere is palpable from the very beginning with a phenomenal reaction, as Liam takes the stage with “Wall of Glass.” Other material from Liam’s solo career,  including “Now that I’ve Found You,” and his personal favorite “Once” resonate in the striped back format, giving these songs a new kind of raw sound for Liam.

His vocals shine alongside the 24-piece Urban Soul Orchestra. He is also joined by Oasis guitarist, Bonehead, on performances of “Some Might Say”, “Stand By Me”, “Cast No Shadow” and Liam’s first ever live vocal performance of the Definitely Maybe bonus track “Sad Song”.

MTV Unplugged (Live at Hull City Hall) will be available on CD, standard vinyl, splattered vinyl and digitally.
