Men and Women, Simply Red’s second album released in March 1987 established the band as an important global act. They toured the world with Men and Women, performing 120 shows in 9 months, including performing to 40,000 fans in Rio de Janeiro and 80,000 in Sao Paulo. Five singles were released from the Men and Women album, including the hit ‘The Right Thing’, and a stunning cover of the Cole Porter ballad ‘Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye’. The album reached number 2 in the UK charts and went triple platinum. Globally, it reached the top 5 in Australia, Austria, Canada, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Iceland, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland and Sweden.
